2 TB Extreme Pro UHS-II SD Card for $2,000

News has recently emerged about the release of a 2 TB Extreme Pro UHS-II SD card; the new product will cost approximately $2,000. The price is somewhat shocking, given that the Extreme Pro UHS-I card with the same capacity costs just $440.
Pro UHS-II Features
The Pro UHS-II will offer significantly improved speeds compared to the UHS-I standard. The new card’s claimed sequential read speed will be up to 310 MB/s, while its sequential write speed will reach up to 305 MB/s.
The new SD card is primarily designed for continuous shooting and 8K video recording, where performance plays a critical role. SanDisk claims that the card can withstand drops from heights of up to 6 meters, as well as exposure to water and dust. Its rated protection class is IP68.
Of course, microSD Express cards guarantee better performance, but a large number of cameras still support the SD standard. The high price of this new product may also be due to a shortage of memory chips.
