  • Radeon RX 9070 GRE Targets High Refresh 1440p Gaming
  • Faster Memory and Stronger Professional Tools

AMD arrived at Computex 2026 with a clear message for gamers and PC enthusiasts. The company unveiled new processors, introduced a fresh graphics card, and reinforced its long term commitment to the AM5 platform. If you are planning an upgrade, AMD has given you several new reasons to pay attention.

New Life for AM4 and a More Accessible AM5 Entry Point

AMD celebrated ten years of the AM4 platform by introducing the Ryzen 7 5800X3D 10th Anniversary Edition. The processor combines the proven Zen 3 architecture with 3D V Cache technology and 96 MB of total cache. AMD designed it to deliver strong gaming performance while remaining compatible with existing 400 and 500 series motherboards.

The company also launched the Ryzen 7 7700X3D, a more affordable gateway into the AM5 ecosystem. With 8 cores, 16 threads, and 104 MB of total cache, this chip targets gamers who want modern platform features without stepping into premium price territory.

AMD also confirmed that AM5 support will continue through at least 2029, giving users a clear upgrade path for years to come.

Radeon RX 9070 GRE Targets High Refresh 1440p Gaming

The spotlight on the graphics side belonged to the Radeon RX 9070 GRE. Powered by the RDNA 4 architecture, the card launched globally at $549 and aims directly at 1440p gamers.

AMD equipped it with 12 GB of memory, enhanced AI acceleration, and next generation ray tracing hardware. According to the company, the card can deliver over 100 FPS with ray tracing enabled in supported titles. AMD also highlighted support for FSR across more than 300 games and claims an average 21% performance advantage over competing solutions in 1440p gaming scenarios.

Faster Memory and Stronger Professional Tools

Beyond gaming, AMD introduced Radeon AI FSR PRO for workstations and expanded professional software certifications for its Radeon AI PRO lineup. The company also announced EXPO Ultra Low Latency technology, which can boost gaming performance beyond standard memory profiles.

In our view, AMD is strengthening its position on multiple fronts at once. Longer platform support, more affordable X3D processors, and a competitive new RDNA 4 graphics card could make future upgrades easier and more attractive for many PC users. If AMD delivers on its performance claims, gamers may see even greater value in the midrange market over the next year.
