SK hynix, a leading semiconductor memory company, presented its developments in data center functioning and artificial intelligence (AI). One of the key innovations presented is a solid-state drive (SSD) with an exceptional capacity of 300 TB.

This SSD will become part of SK hynix's technologies aimed at high-performance computing. High-capacity data storage is in demand, so SK hynix's 300TB SSD was created as a market response to it in a compact form factor.

The company predicts that the amount of data in the AI era will grow by 645 zettabytes, starting at just 15 zettabytes in 2014, and that amount of data will need to be stored somewhere. Solid-state drives and hard disks are expected to meet this challenge, with capacities starting at 300 TB and 100 TB, respectively. But one thing is clear: the need for high-performance drives will continue to grow in the coming years.

The specifics of the 300 terabyte SSD from SK hynix, including the data transfer interface and speed, are not yet known. However, there is a high probability that these drives will be quite balanced in terms of cost, capacity, speed, and efficiency.

SK hynix is also working on the integration of HBM4 and HBM4E technologies, CXL unified memory solutions, and the introduction of high-capacity LPDDR6, GDDR7, PIM, and DDR5 memory.
