ASUS has officially announced its most exclusive graphics card, the ROG Matrix Platinum GeForce RTX 5090. This model was created as a jubilee showcase of the capabilities of the ROG lineup. It costs €4099.90, which is almost twice as expensive as NVIDIA’s Founders Edition. The new GPU is built on the Blackwell architecture and features 32 GB of GDDR7 memory, occupying four slots.
Features
Power System
One of the key technological features of the ROG Matrix Platinum RTX 5090 is its dual power system. The standard 12V-2×6 connector allows the card to consume up to 600 W, but when connected to a BTF motherboard with a hidden power slot, it can draw up to 800 W. This provides an additional 10% power headroom intended for extreme overclocking.
Cooling
The card uses four fans, a copper vapor chamber, liquid metal on the GPU die, a massive heatsink, and several additional copper layers in the PCB for cooling.
Signature Functions
ASUS has also integrated a range of signature features for overclockers, such as Memory Defroster for extreme LN2 cooling, Power Detector+ for detecting power issues, Thermal Map for monitoring temperatures, and Mileage for collecting technical operation data. The card also has Level Sense technology, which monitors the tilt of the graphics card and warns the user about sagging, preventing strain on the connector.
Limited Edition
The ROG Matrix Platinum RTX 5090 will be limited to just 1000 units, emphasizing its collectible nature. Its likely target audience is collectors and reviewers looking for unique engineering solutions.
