AMD has introduced the new Ryzen 5 7500X3D processor, the most affordable chip featuring advanced 3D V-Cache technology for the AM5 platform. Aimed at gamers seeking maximum performance at a reasonable price, this chip hits the market with a starting price of $269.
Specifications and Architecture
The Ryzen 5 7500X3D is built on the Zen 4 architecture and manufactured using a 5 nm process. It comes with 6 cores and supports 12 threads. The total cache size is 96 MB (including 64 MB of 3D V-Cache). The chip’s clock speeds are 4.0 GHz (base) and 4.5 GHz (Boost).
Thanks to a TDP of just 65 W, the processor does not require powerful cooling, making it ideal for compact and energy-efficient builds.
Performance Advantage
AMD positions the 7500X3D as a direct competitor to mid-range Intel gaming processors, such as the Core i5-14600K and Core Ultra 5 245KF.
According to AMD’s own tests, the new Ryzen 5 7500X3D demonstrates a significant gaming advantage:
On average, 22% better performance in popular esports titles (with peaks up to +42% in PUBG) compared to the Core Ultra 5 245KF.
Across a selection of 20 AAA games, AMD claims an average 13% advantage over the Core Ultra 5 245KF.
Compared to the Core i5-14600K, the advantage is smaller but still favors AMD: +12% in competitive games and +8% in major AAA titles.
Test Conclusions
Early independent reviews confirm that the chip performs exceptionally well in games, outperforming competing processors. Although the performance advantages over the Core Ultra 245KF are lower in independent tests (5% to 17%), the chip surpasses even some top Intel models from previous generations in certain 1080p scenarios.
