According to Geekbench 6, MediaTek's new flagship chipset, the Dimensity 9600 Pro, has demonstrated performance levels that place it on par with industry leaders like the Apple A19 Pro and Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5.
Impressive Benchmarks and the Transition to 2nm Process
According to Digital Chat Station, an engineering sample of the new processor scored an impressive 4,200–4,300 points in single-core and 12,000–12,500 points in multi-core modes. These results outperform competitors by 25%.
The reason for this leap is the use of TSMC’s innovative 2nm "N2P" process, which allows for clock speeds of around 5 GHz.
Updated Architecture
The main difference of the new chip compared to its predecessors is the presence of two powerful 5 GHz cores simultaneously. These cores are extremely potent and, therefore, have their drawbacks, such as increased power consumption at peak frequencies and thermal regulation issues.
The Dimensity 9600 Pro will also feature the latest memory and graphics standards, including LPDDR6 RAM support, UFS 5.0 high-speed internal storage, and the new ARM Magni GPU for an enhanced gaming experience.
