Recently, Micron’s financial report was released with information regarding the fourth quarter and price forecasts.
Insights into the financial report and a new customer
In the released report, Micron has exceeded all financial metrics except for the adjusted gross margin forecast, which is 86.25% compared to the previously forecasted 86.40 %. It is expected that gross profit will be at the lowest level in 2027. Whereas a higher gross profit is foreseen after the first quarter of the next year.
HBM production in the fourth quarter was less profitable for the company when compared with standard DRAM. Looking ahead, it is expected that most of Micron’s products will be sold at significantly higher prices in the coming years.
Huge $25 billion expenditures are forecasted for Micron in the first half of 2027. This spending is mainly related to the construction of new manufacturing facilities.
Micron’s experts anticipate that AI-controlled humanoid robots could become the biggest memory consumer by the end of the decade. By 2030, such humanoid robots can use almost 240 million GB of DRAM.
