The first benchmark results for the Wildcat Lake line of budget devices have recently been released. Initial conclusions about performance can be drawn based on the Core 3 310 and Core 5 320 models.
Wildcat Lake Benchmark Results
In the single-core Geekbench test, the Core 5 320 scored approximately 2,600 points. This puts the new model on par with the Core Ultra 9 285H, Core i5-14600, and Ryzen AI 9 HX 375. In multi-core mode, the processor scored 7,913 points.
Detailed specifications for the Wildcat Lake chips are not yet available, but the Core 5 320 will likely have a boost clock of up to 4.6 GHz. Additionally, the chips feature only 2 Xe2 cores.
Given these specifications, the chips will be targeted at basic use cases in ultra-budget laptops. In this segment, raw power isn’t the main factor, so performance, energy efficiency, and pricing are more important.
Despite its minimal configuration, the Core 5 320 matches the performance of more powerful processors in single-core tests and doesn’t lag far behind in multi-core tests.
