Joomla 4.4.12 and 5.2.5 release
14:16, 12.03.2025
The security release for Joomla 4.4.12 and 5.2.5 series is now available for users. Some bugs have also been fixed in the new Joomla releases.
Fixed Vulnerabilities
The main issue with the previous series was the possibility of malicious files being influenced via Media Manager. This vulnerability had a significant degree of impact but had a low probability of being exploited in real-world situations. The problem has now been completely eliminated. The goal was to increase the number of checks in Media Manager and thus prevent users with “edit” permissions from creating executable files.
Updating the current version of Joomla should be regularly done to prevent possible consequences.
