AMD has officially announced plans to release new affordable processors for its AM4 platform, which was released in 2016 and is present in the market for the ninth year in a row. The new models include Ryzen 5 5700XT, 5700T, and Ryzen 3 5400G, which will bring more power and performance.

The information source was @momomo_us. Later on, the ASUS and MSI websites added these 6-core processors to the lists of supported motherboards. MSI's website also revealed that the 5600T will be a Vermeer processor without integrated graphics. Also, AMD plans to re-release Ryzen 3 5300G as a retail product for consumers separately.

Characteristics of the New Processors

The new models have the following characteristics:

  • The Ryzen 5 5600XT has 6 cores, 32MB Level 3 cache, 65W heat dissipation, and a base frequency of 3.8GHz. It will be the flagship of the lineup and will offer higher frequency and a large L3 cache.
  • The Ryzen 5 5600T also has 6 cores, 32MB L3 cache, and 65W heat dissipation, but with a lower base frequency of 3.5GHz. It will be a more affordable option with suitable performance.
  • The Ryzen 3 5300G is rumored to have 4 cores, 8 MB of Level 3 cache, 65W of heat dissipation, a 4 GHz base frequency, and 6 GPU cores, and will be a great choice for budget systems.

Compatibility

The Ryzen 5 5600T has already been tested on Geekbench 6.3.0 along with the Gigabyte X570 AORUS PRO motherboard.

As a result, we know that Gigabyte's X570 motherboards will support the new processors; but so far, there have been no updates.

Release expectations

The official launch of the new processors is expected in the coming months, and prices and exact specifications will be announced closer to the start of sales. With these new products, AMD once again confirms its leadership in the field of processors for the mass market, offering powerful and affordable solutions on the AM4 platform.
