AMD has surprised the desktop market by breathing new life into its long serving AM4 platform. The company quietly listed a new Ryzen 5 5600F on its website before quickly pulling the page. This processor is built on the Zen 3 architecture and offers six cores and twelve threads with a base speed of 3.0 GHz and a boost of up to 4.0 GHz. It comes with 35 MB of cache and a 65 W TDP. As with all “F” models it lacks integrated graphics which means users must rely on a discrete graphics card. The upside is a more affordable price tag for gamers and builders who already plan to use a dedicated GPU.

Zen 5 Powers the Next Generation

While AM4 refuses to fade away AMD is also strengthening its newer AM5 platform. The Ryzen 9000F series arrives with Zen 5 architecture. Leading the way is the Ryzen 7 9700F with eight cores, sixteen threads and a boost up to 5.5 GHz. It is joined by the Ryzen 5 9500F with six cores, twelve threads and a maximum boost of 5.0 GHz. Both chips keep a modest 65 W power profile while providing significant performance for modern desktops.

Business Class with Ryzen PRO

AMD has also expanded its professional lineup with new Ryzen PRO 9000 and Ryzen PRO 7000 models based on Zen 4. Options range from the twelve core Ryzen 9 PRO 9945 to the six core Ryzen 5 PRO 7745. These processors focus on security and reliability while maintaining the same efficient 65 W TDP.

With this mix of refreshed AM4 parts and cutting edge AM5 chips AMD shows it is ready to serve both budget conscious builders and enterprises demanding dependable performance.
