TSMC: Prospects for Chip Production in the US

Reuters reported that TSMC's new facility in Arizona, USA, will not produce chips earlier than the facility in Taiwan.
TSMC's Plans in the US
Earlier, TSMC announced the construction of a facility in Arizona, which will produce chips using 4nm technology and, in the future, more advanced 3nm processors. This step is aimed at reducing dependence on the Asian region and meeting the demand of American technology giants.
Despite this, the head of TSMC said that the construction of the facility in Arizona took twice as long as the construction of a similar one in Taiwan. That is why the production of chips in Taiwan will start earlier.
Why Taiwan Remains the Center of Chip Production
The company said that the bulk of production, including advanced technologies, remains and will remain in Taiwan.
However, TSMC assures that the Arizona plant will produce products that will not be inferior in quality to those in Taiwan.
A lack of skilled personnel, supply problems, and legal issues made it difficult to implement the project in Arizona quickly. TSMC had to transport construction personnel from Texas, which resulted in additional costs.
However, the production of chips using the 4nm process has already been established in the United States.
