On February 19, 2025, a new stable version of the popular network analyzer Wireshark 4.4.4 was released. The 4.4 branch was first introduced in August 2024, and the project itself has a long development history—its first stable release, Wireshark 1.0.0, was launched back in 2008. The program is distributed under the GPLv2 license, making it accessible to everyone.

What’s New in Wireshark 4.4.4?

This update primarily focuses on bug fixes and security vulnerability patches identified during testing. Additionally, developers have improved protocol support, updating modules such as CESoETH, DNS, IEEE 1609.2, ISOBUS, ITS, MPLS, MQTT, PDU Transport, RTP, TCP, TECMP, WebSocket, and WSMP. Updates also extend to CLLog, EMS, and ERF.

Interface Improvements and New Features

Wireshark 4.4.4 brings significant enhancements to the user interface. Improvements have been made to I/O graphs, TCP stream graphs, VoIP call graphs, and other visual components. These changes make it easier to analyze network traffic and quickly find the necessary information.
