Zotac Announces: New GPU Supply and Affordable Gaming at Risk

Zotac, one of the leading graphics card manufacturers, has officially announced the suspension of its 2% cashback reward program. This decision was made due to the critical supply situation and rising component prices, creating an extremely unstable environment even for major distributors.

Memory Shortages and Rising Prices

Zotac’s Korean division stated that the GPU market is currently going through a difficult period. The main issues are a shortage of memory modules and reduced supply, as well as a sharp increase in prices for new models. Zotac’s statement mentions a “stunning” price increase for NVIDIA RTX 5060 and RTX 5090 components, which will eventually push overall prices higher. The company currently says it is trying not to raise prices.

The manufacturer also reports that it can guarantee stable supplies only for older RTX 30 series models with Samsung components.

Affordable Gaming Becoming a Thing of the Past?

The situation is already being felt in the consumer market. For example, the popular RTX 5060 Ti with 16GB memory is losing demand due to its price rising to $700, although at launch (spring 2025) it was $429.

The price increase of formerly affordable graphics cards is being observed worldwide, and analysts predict that only models with 8GB of memory will remain accessible.
