How to Restrict Access to Your Account Using an IP Access List?
The IP Access List allows you to restrict access to your Account to specific IPv4 addresses. When the restriction is enabled, access is allowed only from IP addresses added to the list.
This provides an additional layer of security for your Account. Even if someone obtains valid login credentials, they will not be able to access the Account from an IP address that is not allowed.
Note:
The IP Access List currently supports IPv4 addresses only.
Before You Enable IP Restrictions
Attention:
Add your current IP address to the IP Access List before enabling the restriction. Otherwise, you may lose access to your Account. The restriction applies to all Users with access to the Account, so make sure their required IP addresses are also added to the list before enabling it.
Before using the IP Access List, keep the following in mind:
- Use a static IP address whenever possible. If your Internet provider assigns a dynamic IP address, you may lose access when your IP changes. If you are unsure whether your IP address is static or dynamic, contact your Internet provider.
- Keep the list up to date. Add new IP addresses before switching networks and remove addresses you no longer use.
- Consider access from other locations. If you need to access your Account while traveling, working remotely, or using another network, make sure the required IP address is added to the list beforehand.
- Contact HostZealot Support if you are locked out. If you can no longer access your Account because of the IP restriction, our Support team can assist you.
How to Add an IP Address
To add an IP address to the IP Access List:
- Open Settings in the HostZealot Client Area.
- Go to the IP Access List tab.
- Enter the IPv4 address you want to allow in the IP address field.
- Click Add IP.
The IP address will appear in the list of allowed addresses.
How to Remove an IP Address
All allowed IP addresses are displayed on the IP Access List tab. To remove an address, use the delete option next to it.
Once removed, the IP address will no longer be included in the Account access rules.
