How to reinstall the operating system on your VPS
You can reinstall or change the operating system on your VPS directly from the HostZealot Client Area.
Note:
Currently, OS reinstallation through the HostZealot Client Area is available for Linux operating systems only. Windows reinstallation is not yet available through OS Provisioning but is planned for a future update.
Attention:
Reinstalling the operating system erases all data on the server, including files, databases, and settings. Back up any data you need before you start.
To reinstall the operating system on your VPS:
- Go to My Services and select Virtual Servers.
- Select the VPS you want to reinstall and click its name.
- On the server page, select OS Provisioning in the menu on the right.
- In the OS Provisioning window, select the Linux distribution you want to install.
- Click Reinstall and confirm the action by clicking Continue.
- On the next screen, you will see the new root password for your VPS. Save it in a secure place.
Note:
OS Provisioning installs the operating system only. If you need a Control Panel, you can install it manually after the operating system has been reinstalled or contact HostZealot Support for assistance.
The operating system installation will start after confirmation. Once it is complete, you can access your VPS using the new root password.
