How to change or reset your Windows Server password?
If you still have access to your Windows Server, you can change the Administrator password directly from Windows.
Change the password using RDP
- Connect to your Windows Server using RDP.
- Press Ctrl + Alt + End.
- Select Change a password.
- Enter your current password and the new password.
- Confirm the new password.
Change the password using Command Prompt
You can also change the password from Command Prompt or PowerShell opened with administrator privileges:
net user Administrator NEW_PASSWORD
Replace NEW_PASSWORD with your new password.
Note:
If your administrator account uses a different username, replace Administrator with the corresponding account name.
If you forgot your Windows Server password
If you no longer have access to your Windows Server because you forgot the Administrator password, contact HostZealot Support. Our technical team can help you restore access to the server.
Attention:
Do not reinstall the operating system to reset a forgotten password unless you intend to erase the existing server installation and data.
