How to Get an RDP File to Access a Windows Server?
An RDP file allows you to connect to your Windows server using a compatible Remote Desktop client. If Windows is installed on your server, you can download the RDP configuration file directly from the HostZealot Client Area.
Note:
This option is available for both VPS and Dedicated Servers running Windows.
How to Download the RDP File
- Go to My Services and select the service with the Windows server you want to access.
- Select the server and click its name.
- On the server page, click RDP in the menu on the right to download the configuration file.
How to Use the RDP File
Open the downloaded .rdp file with a compatible Remote Desktop client and click Connect. When prompted, enter your Windows server credentials.
On Windows, you can open the file with Remote Desktop Connection. On other supported platforms, you can use a compatible Microsoft Remote Desktop client.
