Chuwi Puts Large AI Models on Your Desk
With its UniBox AI495 Pro, Chuwi is placing local AI hardware in a new segment. This small 2.9 litre PC is equipped with AMD Ryzen AI Max+ Pro 495 processor that can be paired with up to 192GB of unified LPDDR5X memory. 160GB of RAM can be used for graphics processing tasks.
It uses a 16 core Zen 5 CPU with Radeon 8065S graphics powered by 40 RDNA 3.5 compute units. According to Chuwi, the PC can process AI models up to 300 billion parameters with 4 bit quantization.
You also get dual 10Gb Ethernet, two USB4 ports, WiFi 7, OCuLink for an external GPU and three PCIe 4.0 M.2 slots. A more affordable UniBox AI395 will offer up to 128GB of memory and support smaller local AI workloads.
SK hynix Prepares Memory for the Next AI Wave
Machines like these need faster and denser memory, and SK hynix is preparing for that demand. The company continues to expand production of its advanced 1c DRAM process.
Its 1c share grew from 10 percent in Q1 2026 to 13 percent in Q2. SK hynix expects it to reach 24 percent in Q3 and around 34 percent in Q4. The technology will support future products including HBM4E, LPDDR6 and DDR5.
