It was recently announced that Qualcomm acquired Arduino, a well-known Italian company specializing in single-board controllers.
The price of the deal has not been disclosed yet, as regulators have not fully approved the purchase.
Qualcomm does not plan any major changes for Arduino. Arduino will retain its brand and support a range of microprocessors and microcontrollers from various suppliers. In addition, all active community users will be able to join the Qualcomm technology stack.
Details about the mini-PC
The first significant result of the collaboration between the two companies was the Arduino Uno Q device. The new project is a single-board computer based on the Dragonwing QRB2210 processor. The mini-PC has an Adreno 702 graphics chip, 4 Cortex-A53 cores, and a microcontroller.
The new product is compatible with the UNO ecosystem and Arduino IDE. In addition, it is the first board that works with the integrated Arduino App Lab development environment. This platform also operates on open-source code.
