According to the recent plans, Apple Foundation Models will be based on Gemini. In this way, future Intelligence features, along with improved Siri, are launching this year.

That means Apple Intelligence will function on Private Cloud Computer and Apple devices and will continue to support top privacy standards.
The negotiations about the usage of the custom Gemini model started in August 2025, when the first information appeared online regarding this topic. At that time, Apple was ready to pay $1 billion a year for this technology.
