Recently, it has been revealed that DRAM from the CXMT manufacturer was found in Corsair's DDR5 modules.
Insights regarding NAND and DRAM markets
Due to the current market shortage, it has been discussed that companies such as YMTC and CXMT will primarily be responsible for supplying NAND and DRAM chips. Such a situation is possible because SK Hynix, Micron, and Samsung are mainly focused on supply for AI data centers. The insider’s photos revealed that Corsair is already using CXMT DRAM for its memory modules.
Corsair has begun to focus on Chinese suppliers due to the market shortage. At the same time, CXMT has significantly increased the production of DDR5 DRAM. As for some resources, the company has even doubled its production.
CXMT is offering DRAM chips with 16 and 24 GB with the speed characteristics of nearly 8,000 MT/s. Whereas other Chinese manufacturers are trying to increase production of DDR5 RDIMMs for the data centers.
Because of the obvious memory crisis, Corsair has lots of reasons to reorient on CXMT. Chinese companies are offering cheaper DRAM with similar specifications to the leading manufacturers, and that can help them to enter the mainstream market.
