CXMT Steps Into the Spotlight With Fresh DDR5 and LPDDR5X Memory

You may soon see a new name beside Samsung, Micron and SK Hynix. ChangXin Memory Technologies from China has introduced its own DDR5 and LPDDR5X memory during a global shortage. The company unveiled these products at IC China 2025 and showed that it is ready to compete at the highest level.
CXMT’s DDR5 chips reach speeds up to 8000 megabits per second and offer 24 gigabits of capacity which equals 3 gigabytes per chip. These specifications already match the performance of the leading manufacturers. CXMT created seven product versions for servers, workstations and home computers. The company also presented LPDDR5X modules with speeds up to 10667 megabits per second. They come in 16 gigabit chips and in full module options from 12 to 32 gigabytes.
A Complete Portfolio for Modern Computing
When you look at the lineup you notice that CXMT aims at every major market. The company rolled out modules based on its own NAND and covered scenarios from cloud platforms to compact devices. You will find formats such as RDIMM, MRDIMM and the TFF MRDIMM for data centers and enterprise servers. For everyday users there are standard desktop modules and SODIMM for laptops. CXMT also introduced CUDIMM and CSODIMM versions that follow new 2024 JEDEC standards and stabilize high frequency signals with integrated CKD chips.
A Strategic Shift for the Global Market
CXMT’s marketing chief Luo Xiaodong pointed out that demand for DRAM is rising fast. This growth puts pressure on supply and prices. He believes that China needs a reliable domestic source of memory and CXMT wants to fill that role. If China meets more of its own demand, global supply could finally ease. The well known trio of SK Hynix Samsung and Micron would then be able to serve the rest of the world more freely.
