  • About Hardened Images
  • A catalog for every need

Docker has announced unlimited access to its Hardened Images catalog — a collection of vulnerability-verified container images. The new access model means that companies of any size can now use these images without restrictions. The offer is available by subscription and includes a 30-day free trial.

About Hardened Images

Hardened Images are enhanced versions of standard Docker container images.

Each image in this collection has been checked for known vulnerabilities, updated, and stripped of unnecessary components. They also support Vulnerability Exploitability eXchange (VEX) — a mechanism that highlights only the most significant security threats.

Independent cybersecurity auditors from SRLabs, who partner with Docker, have confirmed that the images are secure and properly signed, have no root access or leaks, and include SBOM and VEX data.

A catalog for every need

The catalog offers a wide selection of images, including options for machine learning and artificial intelligence, databases, frameworks, and infrastructure tools such as Kafka. It also includes variants compliant with FedRAMP, the stricter U.S. federal security standards.

All images in the catalog are compatible with Alpine and Debian Linux, and can be easily integrated and customized without compromising their secure base.
