Google's TPU and NVIDIA's monopoly on AI chips

Google's AI chips (TPU) are becoming an increasingly popular option on the market, and major giants Anthropic and Meta are already using them. In response to these events, NVIDIA's market value has fallen by 5%.
Publicly, NVIDIA declares that it is pleased with its competitor's success, but at the same time has introduced a similar ASIC chip.
What triggered investor concern?
Google's chips were originally developed in 2018 for the company's cloud servers. However, Meta's active use of TPU chips has caused global concern among investors. The chips demonstrate high efficiency in performing AI-related tasks and can therefore significantly influence the market situation.
For a long time, Google's TPU was used as an internal tool, but circumstances have changed dramatically. Google trained Gemini 3 on its chips and proved that it is possible to run top models without NVIDIA GPUs.
Google is a major customer of NVIDIA, which is becoming a competitor. And NVIDIA, with 90% of the market, is beginning to feel a real threat to its leadership.
