Intel plans to release a new desktop processor, Nova Lake, which will differ from previous generation products in terms of increased core count.

Insider information about the configuration

According to preliminary information, Nova Lake-S will have 4 low-power LP cores, 16 high-performance P cores, and 32 energy-efficient E cores.

The designation NVL-S first appeared in shipping documents at the beginning of the summer. It referred specifically to testing equipment. In addition, information was provided about the new LGA-1954 socket measuring 45×37.5 mm. These dimensions are the same as the current LGA-1851, so most cooling systems will be compatible.

The launch of Nova Lake-S is likely to take place at the end of this year. While the exact name of the new line is not yet known, it is likely to be called Core Ultra 400.

As for the performance of the new chips, rumors suggest a 1.1× increase in single-thread performance and a 1.6× increase in multi-thread performance compared to Core Ultra 200. The company aims to focus primarily on gaming performance.
