At the MDC 2025 conference, Moore Threads unveiled its new flagship AI accelerator, Huashan. The presentation made it clear that the new device could surpass Nvidia Hopper. The chip is scheduled to go into mass production in approximately 2026.
Features of the new AI accelerator
Huashan will run on the Huagang architecture with 2 compute chiplets and 8 HBM memory modules. The accelerator will support FP4 to FP64 computing. In terms of memory bandwidth, the chip is comparable to the Nvidia B200.
For scaling, the company has developed MTLink 4.0. With this technology, it is possible to combine more than 100,000 accelerators into a cluster. In addition, support for SHARP technology and compatibility with Ethernet have been announced.
The conference also featured a demonstration of the MTT S5000 chip on DeepSeek R1. At the Prefill stage, the accelerator showed 4,000 tokens, and at the Decode stage, 1,000 tokens. The company claims that these figures exceed those of Nvidia Hopper.
Moore Threads was founded in 2020 and was sanctioned by the US in 2023. In 2025, the company raised approximately $1.13 billion on the Shanghai Stock Exchange.
