New AI chip from Nvidia for the Chinese market

Nvidia is working on a new AI chip based on the Blackwell architecture for the Chinese market.
The chip will have the working name B30A and will have half the computing power of the top-of-the-line B300 accelerator. The single‑die architecture means that all the main elements of the circuit will be located on a single piece of silicon, rather than on several chiplets.
Insider information has revealed that the B30A will support NVLink technology and higher-speed memory.
As for the architecture, it has not yet been finalized. Most likely, testing on the first samples will be conducted next month.
Tension in trade relations
The company's official statement emphasized that different options for the product plan are being developed. Many processes are now focused on product competitiveness, but within certain US government limits.
The situation with the sale of technologies to the Chinese market remains very tense. Only in July did Nvidia receive permission to sell the H20 model in China. It was developed following some recommendations from the US authorities, but sales were still stopped in April.
