NVIDIA announced a new network accelerator for AI workloads based on Ethernet technology. The accelerator is capable of transmitting data at up to 400 Gbps speed rate, with direct access to the memory through RoCE.

SuperNIC is developed based on DPU BlueField-3, a part of 400G/800G Spectrum-X network platform, which created a potent computing system designed for accelerating AI workloads.

Some key features of the SuperNIC include fast data packet reordering, advanced congestion control using real-time data and specialized network algorithms, programmable input and output (I/O) capability, energy-efficient low-profile design, and full optimization for AI, including compute, networking, storage, system software, and communication libraries.
