NVIDIA Has Unveiled the Budget RTX 5050 Graphics Card for PCs — 8 GB GDDR6 and DLSS 4 Support for $249

NVIDIA has officially unveiled the GeForce RTX 5050 graphics card for desktop computers. This budget solution, priced at $249, has become the most affordable model among graphics cards based on the Blackwell architecture. The RTX 5050 has 8 GB of GDDR6 video memory, confirming earlier assumptions about the choice of previous-generation memory.
RTX 3050 Update, Skipping a Generation
There was no desktop version of the RTX 4050 in the RTX 40 series lineup, so the RTX 5050 can be considered the direct successor to the RTX 3050. The new product is equipped with 2560 CUDA cores, a base clock speed of 2.31 GHz, and a boost clock speed of up to 2.57 GHz.
Despite using GDDR6, the card supports all key Blackwell technologies: DLSS 4, next-generation frame generation, and the NVENC codec. The RTX 5050 also offers four display connectors — more than some competitors, such as the Radeon RX 9060 XT.
Energy Efficiency and Cooling
The video card's TDP is 130W, and an 8-pin connector is used for power. This will allow cooling system manufacturers to use ready-made solutions, such as those from the RTX 5060. Versions with one and two fans have already been introduced, including compact models and versions with factory overclocking above 2.6 GHz.
Release Date and Expectations
Although NVIDIA has not announced an exact release date, rumors suggest that the release may take place on July 1. The RTX 5050 is positioned as the optimal choice for users who value modern technology but have a limited budget.
