Recently, it was announced that Anthropic is undergoing a major expansion of its infrastructure. The company will receive a million Google AI accelerators. The deal is expected to significantly increase computing power by 2026. Thus, future generations of Claude will be able to greatly expand their capabilities.
What accelerators will be used for the new project?
TPU accelerators will be utilized for the new project. Anthropic already uses the 7th generation of TPUs, mainly due to their energy efficiency and price-performance ratio.
The need for infrastructure growth is directly related to demand. According to the company's analytics, over the past year, the number of corporate accounts has grown sevenfold, and the number of business customers has reached 300,000. At this stage, new resources are needed for stable server operation and model training.
In addition to TPUs, Anthropic also uses NVIDIA accelerators and Trainium processors. Amazon remains the company's main partner, and its joint Rainier project will continue to develop in parallel with new initiatives.
