Samsung is no longer the biggest semiconductor manufacturer. According to Counterpoint Research, Samsung's revenues sank from $70.2 billion in 2022 to $43.4 billion in 2023. This 38% drop is caused by the general downturn in the chip market as well as Samsung’s inability to engage new customers.
In 2023 Intel became the largest semiconductor manufacturer. Their revenues sank as well, but not as much as those of Samsung – from $59,8 to $50.5 billion.
NVIDIA in turn managed to increase its revenues by an impressive 86% – from $16.3 to $30.3 billion, which moved the company from 10th to 3rd place.
