Server memory module for $138 from CXMT
15:40, 06.02.2026
Chinese company CXMT has released a DDR4-3200 ECC server memory module. The module is almost three times less expensive than other similar products, costing only $138.
Changxin Memory plans to start mass production next year and is already expanding its production capacity in Shanghai. The plant will produce DRAM for cars, servers, and PCs.
Panic on the Chinese market
Due to the low cost of CXMT memory, the shares of other companies in China began to fall immediately. In just one day, companies such as Nanya Technology and Winbond Electronics lost approximately 5.61% and 9.05%. The decline also affected many other companies.
Overall, the memory market experienced a crisis, and by the end of 2025, prices for such products had risen sharply. Thus, Chinese companies are attempting to expand their presence in memory production.
Yangtze Memory Technologies is launching its project in Wuhan in the second half of this year to increase production. The company also plans to allocate half of the new plant's capacity to DRAM and develop NAND in parallel.
Global demand for memory may have a positive impact on new market players.
