Qualcomm has unveiled the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4, a new mobile platform aimed at users who want flagship-level features without paying a premium price. Part of the Snapdragon 7 series, this chip blends strong performance, multimedia power, and advanced AI capabilities.
Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 introduces notable improvements across the board. Qualcomm says CPU performance has increased by 27%, GPU by 30%, and the AI engine (NPU) is now 60% more potent than the previous generation. The chip is built on a 4nm process and features an 8-core setup (1+4+3): one high-performance core at 2.8 GHz, four performance cores at 2.4 GHz, and three efficiency cores at 1.8 GHz.
Gaming, Imaging, and Connectivity
This platform offers Elite Gaming features, smooth gameplay, and support for on-device generative AI, including Stable Diffusion 1.5 for image generation. It can handle WQHD+ displays at 144Hz, supports up to 16 GB LP-DDR5x RAM, and cameras up to 200 MP with 4K HDR video recording.
A standout feature is the introduction of Qualcomm XPAN, an expanded personal area network previously exclusive to Snapdragon 8 chips. The Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 also supports 5G, Wi-Fi 7, and Bluetooth 6.0.
Manufacturers are already on board. HONOR and vivo have confirmed they will launch smartphones powered by Snapdragon 7 Gen 4. The first devices are expected to arrive within this month.
With this release, Qualcomm is making high-end mobile experiences more accessible than ever.
