A not-so-standard device was spotted on the Intel campus. It is an ARCade slot machine with Alchemist Arc A7. Unfortunately, the machine was not functioning.
Meanwhile, at Computex 2025, Panther Lake was shown in use, and some details about the new chips were revealed. Panther Lake Core Ultra 300 is the first chip on the 18A process. Intel has tested the chips in real-time and AI applications, and it is clear from these tests that the chips are ready for release early next year.
Panther Lake will be characterized by high performance and energy efficiency. Production will start in the 2nd half of this year. The company announced that the chips will have next-generation XMX graphics, and performance will be closer to Lunar Lake.
Panther Lake testing
Intel conducted tests on platforms (RVP), so they likely worked without thermal limitations. However, the company did not reveal the benchmark performance.
On the test systems, certain characteristics of the new chips could be seen. The processor operated at 3 GHz, had a base frequency of 2.0 GHz, 16 cores, and 16 threads. It should be noted that these are the initial figures because the final product is expected to have 5 GHz+.
