Demand for products from Taiwanese semiconductor contractor TSMC is growing at an unprecedented rate, especially from companies such as Broadcom and Nvidia. At this stage, the company is working on the construction of a complex in Arizona; however, over the years, even new construction will not help overcome production capacity constraints.
Broadcom and Nvidia's requests for increased chip supplies
Broadcom and Nvidia recently reached out to TSMC with a request to produce more chips. At the same time, TSMC is currently looking for opportunities to produce tensor processors for Google. Thus, the company cannot fully satisfy the requests of its partners.
TSMC's facilities are fully loaded due to significant demand for AI. The construction of a complex in Arizona will not impact current tasks in the coming years.
The company currently holds approximately 60% of the contract chip manufacturing market and serves giants such as Nvidia, Google, and Apple. TSMC also produces approximately 90% of the world's top chips.
