Most often, hardware changes are associated with performance gains, but in this case, it was the drivers that had an impact of almost 27%.
Performance changes after new testing
After the software update to the RX 9070 XT, the video card has significantly improved its performance level. The video card was tested on the Hardware Unboxed YouTube channel. The performance was compared with the latest drivers and at the time of launch on a system with a Ryzen 7 9800X3D processor.
An RTX 5070 Ti was also included in the testing to make sure that the changes were solely driver-related. In some aspects, the 9070 XT outperformed even the RTX 5070 Ti, which is more expensive and was considered more productive.
The tests were conducted on 16 games, and some of them showed an improvement of up to 27%. Certain NVIDIA cards have shown some improvement in the past, but not as much. The average increase in performance in games is recorded at 9%. Therefore, comparing the price and new performance tests, the video card becomes a very attractive variant.
