AMD Quietly Launches Radeon RX 9060 for Budget Gamers
15:44, 06.08.2025
AMD has quietly introduced its new graphics card, the Radeon RX 9060, aimed at the budget gaming segment. Unlike typical high-profile launches, this release comes without major fanfare. The RX 9060 is designed for mainstream Full HD gaming and will only be available as part of prebuilt systems from select PC integrators.
The card features 8 GB of GDDR6 memory and a GPU based on the RDNA 4 architecture. It includes 28 Compute Units, just four fewer than the RX 9060 XT. Full specifications are not yet public, but the GPU supports modern gaming technologies, including FidelityFX Super Resolution 4 (FSR 4). Despite its potential appeal to budget-conscious players, AMD has chosen to limit its availability, which may frustrate gamers seeking an affordable upgrade.
Market Position and Software Updates
Currently, the RX 9060 XT serves as the most affordable card in the series, priced at around 300 USD. A cheaper RX 9060 could have filled a much-needed gap in the entry-level market, offering better accessibility for gamers on a budget. AMD has not explained why this model is restricted to prebuilt systems.
Alongside the launch, AMD is preparing its Adrenalin 25.8.1 driver update. The new driver brings optimizations for titles such as Mafia: The Old Country, Mecha Break, Wuchang: Fallen Feathers, Valorant on Unreal Engine 5, and the open beta of Battlefield 6. It also expands FSR 4 support to more games, including Cyberpunk 2077, Arena Breakout: Infinite, and Wreckfest 2.
