CXMT and Xiaomi First to Adopt the LPDDR6 Standard

RAM manufacturer CXMT has successfully established production of next-generation LPDDR6 chips, supplying memory components for Xiaomi's latest platform.

CXMT Memory for Xiaomi's 3nm Chip 

LPDDR6 memory from CXMT has successfully passed certification to operate with Xiaomi's latest 3-nanometer Xring O3 processor. Although Xiaomi is forced to produce the processor itself in Taiwan at TSMC facilities, using CXMT memory enables the company to cover its RAM needs using domestic resources. 

Notably, CXMT mastered LPDDR6 less than a year after launching LPDDR5X production. In terms of data transfer speed (12.8 Gbps), CXMT chips currently trail slightly behind South Korean leaders Samsung and SK Hynix (14.4 Gbps), but the gap is narrowing rapidly.

Battle for the Consumer Market and the Threat of New Sanctions 

While global giants like Samsung, SK Hynix, and Micron are focused on supplying RAM for high-load servers and AI systems, CXMT is concentrating on consumer electronics and smartphones (rumors suggest even Apple has shown interest in the Chinese chips). 

The primary threat to CXMT remains new US and European sanctions that could prohibit the servicing and delivery of Dutch lithography equipment (DUV scanners). Without foreign machinery and technical service support, the Chinese industry is not yet able to meet all its factory requirements independently.
