TSMC's August revenue rose significantly compared with last year, mainly due to strong AI-fueled demand. Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co’s revenue increased by 53.3%, to $16.35 billion, whereas the year-over-year revenue increase was 39.3%.
Breakdown of Current Revenue Calculations
The August revenue increase is almost 10.1%, which became possible mainly as a result of the advanced chipmaking processes. The increased demand has significantly risen during a recent couple of years due to a huge demand for advanced AI processors.
This trend is negatively affecting overall production capacity by raising contract manufacturing prices for customers, while TSMC tries to increase capacity. The company is the major supplier for Nvidia and has huge benefits from the status of the biggest contract chipmaker.
During the last 12 months, the company's stock market value has doubled, and since 2022, it has increased sixfold.
