Consequences of the Memory Market Crisis
The current situation in the memory market is expected to persist for another two years. Therefore, we need to start adapting to these new conditions now.
The release of new consoles is expected to be slightly delayed. Currently, the PlayStation 6 is scheduled for release in 2029, while the Xbox will become available in 2027. However, the price of the new Xbox will be around $1,000. The price increase could affect not only demand for gaming devices but also game sales in general.
The conference also touched on the idea of optimizing games in terms of RAM requirements. This trend has already begun; for example, in Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight, the recommended RAM has already been reduced from 32 to 16 GB.
