Information has emerged that Raptor Lake processors (13th and 14th generations) are failing due to high temperatures.

The link between overheating and performance failures

A Mozilla engineer reported the problem. The Mozilla bug tracker shows a clear link between malfunctions and overheating. Most of the malfunctions are currently occurring in the Northern Hemisphere, where there has been an abnormal temperature rise.

The bot that recorded the malfunctions showed that the problems occurred most often on the Core i7-14700K. The problem most likely arose due to voltage and synchronization failures, and these problems are exacerbated during overheating. In the future, this situation could lead to irreversible damage to the processor. Intel is aware of this situation and has released several updates.

Users in several US states have already reported overheating issues. The only effective solution for users at this time is to ensure adequate cooling and ventilation.
