13:08, 27.10.2025
The Chinese company MaxSun has released its first motherboard for AM5 processors, featuring a PCIe x16 slot on the back side. This unconventional design is aimed at compact PCs and vertical or “sandwich” layouts. The idea is to hide cables as much as possible, simplifying assembly and improving case aesthetics.
Key Specifications
The 171x171 mm board offers the following features for compact systems:
- Power Delivery: 6+2+1 phase configuration (110A DrMOS).
- PCIe Slots: Main PCIe 5.0 x16 slot (on the back) with x8/x8 splitting support and an additional PCIe 4.0 x4 slot on the front.
- Memory and Storage: Two DDR5 slots and extended storage options — two PCIe 5.0 M.2 slots (one on each side), a SlimSAS SFF-8654 connector (PCIe 4.0 x4), and two SATA ports.
- Networking: Realtek 2.5 GbE Ethernet and Wi-Fi 6E (MediaTek MT7922) with Bluetooth 5.4 support.
