NVIDIA N1X: First Test of New CPU Shows Leadership over Intel and AMD
14:16, 11.06.2025
At Computex 2025, NVIDIA did not present its own CPU, but the first benchmark of the new N1X processor appeared online, confirming the chip's ambitions to lead the high-performance laptop segment. The results are convincing: the chip outperforms the Intel Core Ultra 9 285HX and AMD Ryzen AI MAX+ 395.
Performance Exceeding Expectations
The Geekbench 6.2.2 test was conducted on an unannounced HP 8EA3 system running Ubuntu 24.04. In single-core mode, the N1X scores 3096 points, and in multi-core mode, 18837, which puts it on par with the most powerful mobile solutions on the market.
According to benchmark data, the NVIDIA N1X uses 20 cores, likely based on the GB10 Superchip architecture previously seen in Spark servers and systems from ASUS, Gigabyte, and MSI. The base CPU frequency is 2.81 GHz, and it peaks at 4.05 GHz.
Focus on ARM and Proprietary PC Solutions
Most likely, the N1X is a custom version of the GB10, adapted for consumer devices. The information points to a possible expansion of NVIDIA's strategy towards creating its own PC platforms, where GPUs, CPUs, and possibly AI accelerators will work in close integration.
NVIDIA has not yet officially confirmed the existence of N1X, but the leaked data and tests speak for themselves. If the performance is confirmed in production samples, the company could seriously change the balance of power in the mobile segment, which has been dominated by Intel and AMD.
