OpenAI’s Setback Impacts Oracle and NVIDIA
12:09, 30.04.2026
There are currently numerous reports indicating that OpenAI has failed to increase the number of active ChatGPT users. Furthermore, the company has not met its projected financial targets, leading to concerns about future computing power contracts.
OpenAI’s Future Development Plans
OpenAI had planned for significant growth to cover substantial computing power costs. For example, the company raised approximately $122 billion in its latest funding round. Despite this, most analysts remain skeptical and believe that the raised funds will run out by the middle of next year unless revenue continues to grow steadily.
Currently, the market situation is quite volatile, and shares of companies associated with OpenAI have begun to decline in pre-market trading. Oracle shares fell by 5%, CoreWeave by 5%, AMD by 4%, and NVIDIA by 1%.
In 2022, OpenAI was the first company to release an LLM. However, since then, a number of competitors have emerged on the market and begun to outperform ChatGPT.
Despite certain risks, OpenAI continues to sign billion-dollar contracts to secure future computing power. There is some concern regarding market developments, but OpenAI experts remain fairly optimistic about future growth in demand for AI.
