RISC-V-based technologies
Qualcomm has stated that the use of RISC-V could have a positive impact on innovation across all products. The acquisition of the company is an important step for Qualcomm in providing cutting-edge technology.
The purchase of Ventana may contribute to the emergence of more powerful RISC-V processors. The Ventana Veyron V2 architecture features 32 computing cores operating at a frequency of up to 3.85 GHz. Each core has a matrix accelerator for AI tasks and a 512-bit block that guarantees a performance of 0.5 TOPS/GHz per core.
Thanks to the Ventana architecture, multiple chiplets can be combined into a system. Production of Ventana V2 chiplets is planned for the beginning of 2026. In addition, next-generation Ventana V3 solutions with an improved matrix computing block and FP8 support have already been introduced.
