According to analytical data for the past year, AMD has significantly increased its market share and reached 29.2% of the total volume of processors in the fourth quarter. The company's share in the desktop PC segment exceeded 35%. Additionally, AMD achieved 30% market share in the server market and 25% in the laptop segment.
Competition between AMD and Intel
In the fourth quarter of last year, AMD's share increased to 29.2%, surpassing the figures for the previous quarter of the same year and even the same period in 2024. Despite these figures, Intel remains the leader, occupying approximately 70% of the client processor market. The situation is slightly different because the company has experienced a sharp drop in shipments compared to the previous quarter or the same period in 2024.
The situation for Intel is becoming more difficult in the PC client processor segment, where its share has fallen to 68.8%. AMD, in turn, now controls 31.2% of the same segment. This trend is likely to continue this year, with AMD gradually gaining market share.
In the desktop processor market, AMD's share has grown to 36.4%, mainly due to Ryzen processors. And in the fourth quarter of 2025, the company reached 42.6% in the same segment. Intel's market share has shrunk by 9.5%.
AMD's share of the server processor market also grew to 41.3%, but Intel remains the leader with 58.7% of the market. AMD achieved these record figures thanks to increased shipments, its product range, and supply constraints in the lower price segment.
