Samsung Launches High-Speed 3GB GDDR7 Production, New Memory to Power NVIDIA RTX 50 Super
13:40, 02.12.2025
Mass production of Samsung’s latest GDDR7 memory marks an important step toward the arrival of next-generation high-performance graphics cards.
Larger Capacity for RTX 50 Super
The key change is the increase in chip density: the new memory modules now feature 3 GB instead of the standard 2 GB, while maintaining the same physical size. This potentially allows future models such as the RTX 5080 Super and RTX 5070 Ti Super to be equipped with up to 24 GB of VRAM.
Samsung has also begun producing chips with speeds exceeding 28 Gbps, with variants up to 36 Gbps expected.
Innovations in Energy Efficiency
GDDR7 is not only faster but also more energy-efficient. The company claims a 20% improvement in overall energy efficiency and a 50% reduction in sleep mode power consumption. This has been made possible by the industry’s first use of PAM32 signaling technology, which boosts performance by 30% compared to previous standards.
At this time, there is no official confirmation from NVIDIA regarding the specifications or release date of these graphics cards.
