xAI Has Released Grok Code Fast 1 — a New Model for Accelerated Code Work

The company xAI has introduced the model Grok Code Fast 1, designed for rapid code generation and editing. Developers now have access to a context window of 256,000 tokens, which makes it possible to work with large projects without having to split them into parts.

The cost of use makes this new product one of the most affordable among similar solutions: $0.20 per million input tokens and $1.50 per million output tokens.

Free Access Until Early September

Until September 2, the model is available for free testing in GitHub Copilot, allowing developers to personally evaluate its effectiveness.

Feedback From Early Users

According to testers, Grok Code Fast 1 works several times faster than Claude Code and confidently handles searching for and fixing errors. However, to achieve maximum accuracy, the system still requires detailed queries.
