AMD Prepares Ryzen 9750X and 9650X in Response to Arrow Lake Refresh

AMD is preparing an update to its lineup based on the Zen 5 architecture.
A New Naming Strategy
Instead of the traditional “XT” suffix for updated models, the company is likely shifting toward numerical naming. This may indicate an effort to clearly distinguish between base and updated processors, as well as a response to Intel and its latest release.
Technical Specifications
The processor architecture remains unchanged (Zen 5), with the main improvements focused on performance.
The base clock speed is expected to increase by 400 MHz, delivering around a 10% performance boost. Boost frequencies may also rise by 100 MHz (approximately +2% performance).
While these numbers may not seem dramatic, they will allow the processors to handle workloads more efficiently, which is especially important for stable gaming performance and technical tasks.
Pricing
The decision to update the Ryzen 7 9700X and Ryzen 5 9600X models is no coincidence — these are among the most in-demand products. At launch, they were priced at $359 and $279, respectively, but prices have dropped significantly over time.
The price adjustments are also driven by competition, as Intel is positioning its Core Ultra 7 and Core Ultra 5 Plus models at $299 and $199.
